Empire Poker is part of the Party Poker network and as such it had a high volume player base that play on the site. In February 2006, Party Poker split off from the rest of their "skins" onto their own network, one of these being Empirepoker.com. Partygaming have since bought over EP and now enjoy bumper traffic and great promotions.

Empire Poker Presentation
The presentation is pretty good, although we often find the lobby a little bland. It is well set out and the graphics are also very good. There is a good feel to the site and the table view has appeal and a good feel to it.
We have no complaints in the presentation of the site other than maybe the splash page. Don't let this put you off as the look and feel of the site itself is good.

Empire Poker Software
Empire Poker is in one of the biggest networks around (second to only perhaps PokerStars) and as such enjoys bumber traffic! There have been a series of upgrades over the last few years to cope with the volume of players that they regularly have playing on site. This volume has surpassed 150,000 at times. The lobby has most of the statistical information that you need although view flop percentages are not available. This is a real loss as it is not so easy to locate the nice juicy games, of which there are plenty. On the plus side hands played per hour and average pot is displayed (calculated over the last 20 hands) as is the number of players waiting to be seated.
The software does support Holdem in no-limit, limit and pot limit, Omaha, 7-Card-Stud High and 7-Card-Stud Hi-Lo and heads up poker. The software allows up to 4 different tables to be played at the same time. There is also a re-sizing option which allows you to resize as many tables as you have open (up to 4 max) in order that you can fit perfectly to your screen. In addition the site allows black jack play, deal-making, and side bets while playing poker. This was a recent addition in February 2006. The software also allows you some personal statistics. You can take player notes and hand histories are all available.

Party Poker Traffic / Popularity
The room shares traffic with Partypoker.com which drives exceptionally good traffic. As such you can expect to see up to 80,000 players + playing simultaneously.
You will find up to 140,000 players playing at peak hours and anywhere up to 90,000 during off peak hours. They have also recently added heads up poker which was a game their software didn't support. It is now the complete package.

Fish Factor
The site sees anywhere up to 140,000 players during peak hours and as such there are loose games galore. It is a real loss that view flop percentages are now shown however loose games are still easy to find. I guess they want to protect their games to a degree.
You will need to check out a few tables before you choose what table to sit down at so that you can take a call on how loose the play is.

The customer service is excellent. You can contact the customer services team by email, phone or live support. Complaints on Record
We have previously had complaints about the lack of certain games like Heads up Poker but following a software upgrade there is now heads up action available. All in all, there is not a lot to complain about, a very tight and impressive package.
