Heads up Poker has become increasingly popular with the rise of the online game. This game is one on one poker where each player will buy in for the same amount and each game is played with only 2 players. If you would like a refresher on the rules of the game, here they are.

So as above both players will buy into the game for an equal amount (the buy in). For example, if you play on Full Tilt, they have a limit of $2200 for Holdem games. This means that both players would pay this amount (plus the house charge usually at 10%). The kitty would therefore sit at $4400 and this would be won by the player who wins all the chips in play - in this case the other players chips.

As you play the blinds will go up but you this will not cost you any extra money. The concept of a heads up game is that you only pay the buy in and after that, all you need to do is win all the chips from your opponent.

See our heads up poker rules for more details.
