'Four of a Kind' aka Quads

When we look at the ranking of hands, there aren't many hands that eclipse Four of a kind, otherwise know as quads. It is a strong poker hand and consists of four cards of the same value, eg: 6 Spade 6 Spade 6 Spade 6 Spade. You can only be beaten by a better four of a kind or a Straight Flush or a Royal Flush. The bottom line is that you will be monumentally unlucky to get beaten with any of these hands!

Most online poker rooms offer a bad beat jackpot which can be tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds. Most bad beat jackpots pay out if you get beaten with quad 8's or better. The downside is that they don't come along very often. In fact you will hit four of a kind one hand in every 4,165 hands. Getting beaten by a better hand at the same time would be substantially more unlikely to happen.
