Four of a Kind (Poker)

Four of a kind (or quads) is a strong poker hand that consists of four cards of the same value, for instance 6 Spade 6 Heart 6 Diamond 6 Club. This hand is better than any Full House and only beaten by a better four of a kind, a Straight Flush or a Royal Flush. In fact there are not many times that you will loose with a hand like this.

Most online poker rooms offer a bad beat jackpot which can be tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds. Most bad beat jackpots pay out if you get beaten with quad 8's or better so you can see how likely it is. In fact you will hit four of a kind one hand in every 4,165. Getting beaten by a better hand at the same time would be substantially more.
