Quads (Poker)
Quads (or four of a kind) is the name for four of a kind in poker, for instance 10

. Hitting four of a kind is a very strong hand and only beaten by a Straight Flush and Royal Flush.
As with any poker hand, the stronger the hand gets, the less likely it is that you will hit the hand. The odds of getting four of a kind is 1 in every 4,165 hands. In community card games such as Holdem and Omaha, quads can be made using any combination of hole cards and community cards. A player does not need to hold a pair in hand as he could make the hand with three cards of the same value on the board.
In poker rooms online, there is a bad beat jackpot which is paid out when a player loses with quad 8's (usually) or better.
