Game Variety

Software and Graphics

Party Poker software is not great but is much improved following recent upgrades over the past few years. The lobby is nothing special and the game map could be improved. You can search for games hiding the full tables or search for games by the average pot size. You can also see the average pot size for for the previous 20 hands when seated. This will help you search out the loose games. They allow up to 3 tables to be played per player IP address which is better than most sites.

PP's software is very stable and has some nice features. The table interface is fairly good and is solid. At the table you can take notes on players (right click on player) and if you right click on yourself you can see your session statistics. When playing games players that you have put notes on will have a little scroll next to the name. The software does not however provide the view flop percentages and hands per hour rate.

Party Poker have a rake structure which favors high limit games. Playing on lower limit games the rake runs at 9% of the pot. The rake runs lower at this in the high stakes games (about 6%) so players playing $0.50/$1 and $1/$2 games are at a somewhat disadvantage.

Party Poker sees some of the highest ring game traffic in the industry with as many as 25,000 players at peak times. Even off peak the number still sits at about 7- 8,000 which is as many players as some sites see throughout their entire site at peak times.

This Poker room offers some loose games at times, even on some of the higher stakes games. This is largely due to the number players on the site.
