How to Play Small Suited Connectors Pre Flop (Poker)
Small suited connectors pre flop constitute 45s, 56s, 67s, 78s, 89s and 9Ts. 43s and below are not considered small suited connectors because there is less ways to make a straight. Again like lots of hands that have potential, players in Low Limit Hold'em games love to play suited connectors although there are not great hands.
Any chance of making a straight or flush and players will be in the pot with any suited connector, big or small. Low Limit Hold'em players look for reasons to play every hand so you should avoid this trap.
Treat small suited connectors as a drawing hand as this is exactly what they are. You should look to get in and see a cheap flop as it is likely that you will need a lot of help to win the pot. The odds are stacked against you in making 2 pair, a straight or a flush so don't commit lots of your stack calling one or 2 raises. However if you can see a flop on the cheap play the hand as suited connectors do hold potential.
Don't raise pots with small suited connectors pre flop as they are not a favorite to improve. The odds suggest that if you continually play these, you will loose money over the course of a session. Odds are everything in poker and it is key for you to come to terms with the odds that you have to improve. Without this you are simply guessing at best.
