Limit Omaha Poker Rules
The game as a betting limit which in turn means that when raising a bet made, you can only bet double the bet. At the same time you have a cap on what you are allowed to bet on any hand in the game, hence limit Omaha. A different strategy is needed when playing Limit Omaha as bluffing (especially in low stakes) becomes more difficult because a player can call your bet only at the price of the bet or raise (minimal risk to their stack). In no limit bluffing is easier as players know that calling a raise could cost him/her their entire bank role.
Fixed-Limit games will have two limit amounts specified. This could be $1/$2 or $10/$20. Look at the $10/$20 game- the small blind will be $10 and the big blind will be $20. These are the compulsory bets that must be made before play begins. If this was a limit game then bets after the blinds had been met would be $10 and raises would be $20 (maximum)- the only exception in a limit game would be if a player bets $10, the next player raises (to $20) and a third raise occurs- this would then be a raise for twice the bet, now $40.
The rules of the game (excluding what can be bet) are as normal Omaha but should you need a reminder the game structure is set out below.
