Pot Limit 7 Card Stud Poker Rules
In this game the betting limit is determined by the size of the pot including the total bets that have been posted on the table. The difference between regular limit games and pot limit games is simply the betting amounts. The structure of the game is no different to that of no-limit.
The rules state that the raise amount must be at least as much as the previous bet or raise in the same round. For example, if the first player to act bets $20, then the second player must raise a minimum of $20 (total bet of $40).
If you imagine the limit to be the size of the pot. As the game progresses to the river card the bets will be much larger as the pot will have built up. As indicated in previous sections of the site, the game of 7 Card Stud is unchanged in pot limit games.
It is simply the betting structure that differs. Remember you can bet the amount of the pot. If the pot is at $200 then you can bet $200. If the pot is at $2 then you can only bet $2.
