Pot Limit Heads Up Poker Rules

This game is very rare about at this time. Heads up Poker play online is restricted (by and large) at this time to limit and no limit play but you will find the odd game about.

should you come across any the principle would be the same as any other pot limit game. The fact that you are playing heads up means that you will be playing one against one. You will have to buy in for a set amount as will your opponent. For the
sake of example, lets assume you have bought in to a $50 heads up match.

With your opponent now having bought in you there will be a combined total of $100 in the prize pool. The winner will get the lot. Please be aware that you may have to pay a little more playing online. Poker rooms charge a fee which is generally about 10% of the buy in. So in this case you will likely have paid a total of $50 + $5 fee. Once seated the tournament will start. After the blinds have been met (the automatic bets) pot limit rules are such that you will only be able to bet a maximum equal to the pot size. This will include whatever your opponent has just bet into it. Lets say the pot was at 20 chips and your opponent raises 80 chips.

There are now 100 chips in total and so the maximum bet you can make is another 100 chips. Pot limit requires a lot more patience to hit cards as you will find it more difficult to bully players off hands.

As the pot size goes up you will be able to increase the size of your bets. 500 chips in the pot you can bet 500, 700 chips in the pot and you guessed it, 700 you can bet. The winner is the player to accumulate all the chips in play. Playing online the starting chips will usually be 1000 chips each and so 2000 chips in play (in total). Please note the minimum bet you must make each hand is that of the big and small blinds.
