What is a Fish in Poker?
In poker, a fish is a bad or low skilled player (also known as a sucker) who tends not to make good decisions on which hands to play in and how much to bet. In the online space, there's an abundance of fish throughout almost all online rooms, some in higher concentrations than others.
On the other side of the spectrum, we have the shark. The good aggressive bully who feeds on the fish - or in real terms relieves them of their hard earned money . Bad players can cause a certain amount of frustration as it means that from time to time, they will enter pots when they shouldn't (with substandard hands) and come out the winner. Unfortunately, that's the nature of poker - there's an element of luck that is out with our control. It's worth keeping in mind that these players are the same players that allow the more skilled to making money playing poker.
It always surprises me when i see players berate low skilled players when they catch cards and get lucky. Personally, i would be more inclined to make the loss of his cash the most enjoyable time i can, but that's just me.
