Fish (Poker)
A fish in poker is a bad or low skilled player (also known as a sucker) who does not make good decisions and will call or bet when he shouldn't. Playing online there is an abundance of fish throughout all online rooms, some in higher concentrations than others.
As the terms go, a fish will not usually provide much of a challenge to a shark, the strong and aggressive player who has excellent poker skills. Typical expressions used include, 'What a fishy call', 'you fish' or 'your such a fish'. In truth when bad players suck out it can infuriate a player but the fact of the matter is that without the lower skilled players, making money playing poker would be a much more challenging prospect. It is this reason that many players play in the rooms that have the highest concentrations of fish as these players provide the least challenge or risk.
