Full House
A full house (or Boat or Full Boat) in poker is a combination of two of a kind and three of a kind, for example 8
8

. Looking at the ranking of poker hands, a full house is a strong hand, only beaten by a four of a kind, Straight Flush and Royal Flush.
The biggest threat your full house will face is a better full house held by one of your opponents. To make any boat, the board needs to pair. Let's assume that you hold 10
3
and the board reads 3
5
10
3
J
. There are two possibilities, either threes full or your opponents have a pair in hand and have a bigger full house than you.
In the example above, you have a boat, 3's full. This simply means that you have three 3's (full) and a pair of 10's. Your hand could be beaten by an opponent with a pair of 5's, 10's or Jacks. When determining the best FH, the person with the highest set (the three cards) will be the one that wins the pot. Usually, your 10
3
would be enough here but you should recognize that there are hands out there that have you crushed.
In this example the nuts would be an opponent holding a pair of Jacks to have a full house, Jacks full.
