The 'Rainbow' Rag Flop
Rainbow describes a Holdem flop in a hand of poker where all cards are different suits. In community card games that use a flop, the flop will host three different suits to be considered rainbow, for instance K 10 5 would be called K-10-5 rainbow (so called due to the similarity with many colors of the rainbow)
A rainbow flop offers no flush draw possibilities as the most of any one suit that a player will have is three. When fourth street is dealt, the board is still referred to as rainbow when all four cards are of a different suit. Once the river is dealt, players still refer to the board as rainbow as long as all four suits are out (meaning one suit will have two cards representing).
Rainbow boards are harder to represent big hands as there are less big hands available when you remove flush possibilities. Should the board not pair, there will be even less to worry about. Players on straight draws will not easily be moved off the hand so you should be wary of trying to represent a monster when the board doesn't support your claim!
