PokerStars Battle For Rush Poker
Posted:October 2012
Despite the fact that PokerStars pulled Full Tilt Poker (FTP) out of the god house and has set them back in the road to fame, there is still a patent battle over Rush Poker. This is a copy-cat case whereby FTP, under Pocket Kings claims they had the right to patent this product, having developed it first. You may have heard of fast-fold poker? Well basically just about every online poker site worth its salt offers this product these days, and PokerStars calls their version “Zoom Poker”. It is a super software product, and what really makes it so special is its capability for Mobile gambling. Mobile is the gambling of the future – millions of fans will soon be playing poker on the go!
Now PokerStars (PS) lawyers have taken over the Pocket Kings Patent matter from FTP lawyers. This is simply more evidence of the fact that PS is taking control, and so they should be, it cost them over $800 million to rescue FTP. Pocket Kings surely can’t continue suing their rescuer over this patent, with PokerStars owning the FTP brand.
Anyway, as well as being perfectly suited for mobile play; Rush Poker operates on a comparatively new concept. It basically plucks players from the “cloud’ to form new tables as soon as they fold, it is this concept that makes playing so fast. Basically each game is a new single hand, and the player who folds moves on asap to a brand new game. Proven fabulous for smart-phone users; Rush has changed the face of this game, which was not generally great for mobile application previously.
