FTP Revival Spikes Poker Traffic Online

Posted:November 2012

It is all over the internet, in poker news, and everyone is talking about it. The revival of FullTilt Poker has apparently caused a spike in traffic numbers of as much as 10%. We don’t really find this surprising after FTP re-opened their doors for business on November 6th. There are thousands (if not more) members of this website who are still to be refunded after the closure of the poker website, following on the Black Friday fiasco.

Full Tilt Poker - Table ViewSpiking traffic by 10% is a pretty high percentage, but not for a moment do we believe that this was online poker players lining up to register and play at the site once again. There was also a possibility that people driven by curiosity were taking a peek at the new product, as well as old members standing in line to claim what is rightfully theirs. Both non, and US members have waited 15 long months to be refunded what was owed to them.

Then there is the fact that the new poker pros - Tom “durrr” Dwan, and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, both have a dynamic following of fans. The new face of the site Gus Hansen, also has his own appeal. So, the fact that traffic went up by 10%, has been driven by a variety of factors.

Also having had a look at the new website, it is actually pretty much the same product as it always was. It is unfortunate that US players are no longer allowed to ply their trade at FTP, but we guess that's just the way that the cookie crumbles. USA former-FTP members are being compelled to claim their funds through an application to the Department of Justice. We are also very curious about just how many online poker players who held accounts at FTP will expose them-selves to this process. We would imagine some might just accept it as dead money..
