London Hippodrome To Launch PokerStars-branded Poker Club - Online And Live

There is no doubt about the fact that PokerStars is entrenching itself into the live poker arena. Having made their name online, and already being the sponsor of many live poker tournaments around the world, live operations are going to be a good fit. They already partner with live poker clubs in Belgium and Macau, but does not have anything to do with the running of these operations and the latest buy-in saw them taking a minority shareholding in the London Hippodrome Casino. This can only be a good fit. 

The Director of Online Operations for the Hippodrome PokerStars Club has already been appointed, and Hippodromecasino.com, expected to launch next month under the direction of George Constantinou. The website will launch powered by Microgaming casino games, operated by the Betway Group, while PokerStars takes care of the business end of the online poker offering.

George Constantinou comes from an online poker background, having previously worked at pokerroom.com, amongst other online gaming websites. He has been employed to mastermind the launch of this new website, and will also be responsible for developing the Hippodrome brand’s affiliate network. Obviously being well-entrenched in the online gaming industry, he will also be responsible for exploring additional partnerships and relationships.

As far as the live end of this new business is concerned, an existing poker room at the Hippodrome will be upgraded and revamped. The plan is to host a busy schedule of events such as poker tournaments, and they plan to offer “the same great poker experience, live 24/7 in the heart of London.” The brand will also be looking into the début of some new and more innovative live events, which will be streamlined for the UK poker market.
