Poker Stars Adds Chrome Star to VIP Rewards Program

This year, PokerStars has added some new benefits for their members. They have created a new level of rewards for their VIP Club called “Chrome Star,” which has been placed between the Bronze Star and Silver Star levels. In order for members to achieve the Chrome Star status, they need to earn 100 VIP Player Points-known at Poker Stars as “VPPs”- every month.

Chrome Star members will have all the benefits of Bronze Star members, with two additional rewards. They will receive entry into the weekly $5,000 VIP Tournament as well as to the 100K Privilege Freerolls. With the creation of the new Chrome Star, Poker Stars has also decided to decrease the requirements for their next two levels, the Silver Star and Gold Star. The monthly requirement for Gold Star status has been lowered from 3,000 to 2,500 VPPs, a drop of 17%.The Silver Star Status requirement has been lowered by 33%, from 750 monthly points down to 500.

PokerStars has also announced the dates for their upcoming VIP $1,000,000 Quarterly Tournaments. We have recently had the tournament on February 16. The dates for the rest of the year are June 1, August 17 and November 16. If you have received “Supernova” status from PokerStars, you can enter these tournaments and play for big money for free.

To gain Supernova Status at the site, you need to accumulate 100,000 VPPs in a year. To gain “Supernova Elite” status requires one million VPPs in a year. Members who have received that designation are also given a free entry into the World Championship of Online Poker, which is worth $5200.
