Six Other Casino Games Loved by Poker Players

Posted:December 2017

Sometimes you just fancy a break from the poker table. That rings true whether you are playing poker online or on a high-stakes table in Vegas. You might want to cash in your chips, cut your losses or simply try your luck elsewhere. Still, there are plenty of other great games to play, some of which test your mettle in the same way as poker. Below are six other casino games that poker players love to play:

Craps – Go On a Roll

The ultimate ‘community game’, Craps involves betting on the outcome of someone rolling a pair of dice.Although the rules can seem a little bit complicated to begin with, once you get the hang of it, Craps can be a lot of fun. Games can be raucous, but that can be a welcome change from the seriousness of the poker table.

Roulette – Wheel of Fortune

Perhaps the most well-known casino game after poker and blackjack, Roulette is the most iconic game of pure chance. The basic premise, of course, is to bet on where you think the ball will land on the roulette wheel. However, the beauty of roulette is that there are so many betting options, allowing you to play the percentages or go all out for the big win.

Sic-Bo – Precious Dice

Hugely popular in Asia, Sic-Bo is another game where bets are placed on rolling dice. Three dice are used though, and that means there are lots of different betting options. If you are feeling ambitious, you can bet on ‘Alls’ (three specific numbers) at huge odds of 215 to 1.

Blackjack – Just You Versus the Dealer

Few games can rival blackjack in terms of strategy. Yet, the game is so easy to play. The principle aim is to beat the dealer’s score without exceeding 21, but you have plenty of other weapons in your armoury to increase your stack of chips. Knowing when to double down, split cards, stick or twist could lead to a profitable stay at the table. These skills can beeasily learned too.

Video Poker – No Need to Bluff

There is something deliciously simple about video poker. It requires very little strategy and is thus a great game when the mind needs a little resting. You aren’t playing against the dealer or anyone else. You simply win cash if you have a winning hand, which usually consists of a pair of Jacks or better. Wild cards are used in many variations of video poker. Pull out a Royal Flush and you are in the money.

Baccarat – Banker or Player

Baccarat, sometimes called Punto Banco after its most popular variation, is a popular fixture in most casinos. It is a card game, where you have the aim of reaching a score as close as possible to ‘9’. You are playing against the dealer, but the great thing about baccarat is that you can mix it up and bet on the dealer’s (Banker) hand if you don’t feel the cards are falling your way.
