Ladies (Poker)
Ladies is the poker starting hand Q-Q (a Lady being a singular queen), the third best starting hand in a game of Hold'em. This hand is a love it or hate it hand as it is difficult not to play and a hand that gets players into trouble.
Seeing a pair of queens in front of you, you would think, would be a welcome sight. The reason that so many player hate playing them is that they are so easily beaten, in particular by KQ, KJ or AK (Big Slick) which are very playable hands. In fact, putting ladies up against AK only makes the queens a 56% favorite to win the hand. Add in another player and the percentage drops to under 50%.
So a very nice starting hand, but be prepared to fold if there are overcards and you are faced with aggressive opposition.
