William Hill Player Bags $100K Winning Poker Hand
Posted:July 2012Barcelona just turned out to be a very BIG deal for one William Hill Poker Team player. American professional - Jesse Rockowitz just won the 2012 iPops Main Event and took home the first prize of $100,000. The iPops Main Event, held this year in Barcelona at the Gran Casino, was a continuation of Event number five in the second year for this annual online poker tournament which culminates in live poker game play. This year the event started on the 6th May and offered guaranteed prizes worth $1 Million.
Basically players took part in a series of online tournaments to qualify for all-inclusive travel packages for the iPOPS II Live event. There were only twenty-seven places in the live event, and these are the finalist across all participating online poker sites which participate in this event.
William Hill Poker players actually dominated the event, and boasted nine out of twenty-seven finalists. Rockowitz is a superior player, and in fact holds a WSOP bracelet, as well as more than $1 million in live poker earnings. When it came to the crunch he was top of his class in thick and fast action, with only Willem Müller-Hofstede left at the felt, and a totally tense final table. Müller-Hofstede took the fourth place prize for a win of nearly $30,000.
The second iPops seems to have been a massive success with players; it was streamed live at the William Hill Poker website, and tons of fans tuned in to watch, as well as support fellow-players. Jesse Rockowitz headed straight from Barcelona to Vegas to once again take part in this years’ WSOP tournament. Obviously he’s hoping his run of good luck will continue – but we know that playing poker entails, more than mere good luck. As part of the William Hill team, and with another $100 000 in his bankroll, let’s hope he makes a good showing for the brand.
