Elisabeth Hille Lands Lucrative Betfair Poker Sponsorship

Thanks to her impressive efforts at the recent World Series of Poker Tournament, Elisabeth Hille has landed herself a sponsorship deal at Betfair Poker. Representing the Norwegian poker playing community, she instantly shot to stardom after finishing in 11th place at the main event table. This achievement earned the young woman $590,442 in prize money – not bad for 11th place hey? She is an amateur player, or was until recently, but now that she is being sponsored will have to turn pro. Interestingly, when she went into the 2012 WSOP she was a full-time waitress, now she will serve as an Ambassador on Betfair Poker. She joins a long list of well-known names including none other than Peter Eastgate who achieved fame by retiring from poker after winning the 2008 WSOP main event at aged only 22. This effort led him to be the youngest champion ever (he has since returned to the game). Eastgate won a prize pot of over $9 million, and then generously donated his bracelet to be auctioned on eBay to raise funds for UNICEF, it raised $147 500.

Hille was already seen wearing her Betfair Poker patch during the main event, and is being compared to poker phenom, Annette Obrestad. Also a Norwegian female player who won the inaugural WSOP Europe Main Event one day before turning 19 years old. Her prize money was $2 million. It seems that Norwegian females have what it takes to play poker. It must be the long cold dark winter nights when there is nothing better to do. Both of these female players started by playing poker online and parlayed their way into live poker. Annette Obrestad was only 15 years old when she started playing this game.
