TEXAS HOLD'EM STRATEGY
Snowmen is the Holdem starting hand 8-8, due to the fact that the hand looks like a pair of snowmen (also known as Octopuses). This hand is one of the hands referred to as middle pair and is a strong pre flop starting hand.
As with most middle pairs, they are good for one thing - making sets. There's very often overcards on the board and the chance of improving to anything other than a set is limited and isn't going to have any disguise. It is usually a good strategy to get in cheap and if you hit, win big.
A single eight is also known in the singular as a Snowman, a Fat Lady or Ocho.
