Rush Poker - Will it catch on?
Posted:November 2010Anyone that has played poker will appreciate the frustration of playing at a table where either the action is slow or the players are slow. Waiting for a good hand to come along can also be a frustration.
Full Tilt Poker have designed a new game called Rush Poker that they hope will become the future of online poker. This revolutionary new poker format is designed to minimize your wait time between hands and keep you in the action at all times.
Whether you’re playing a Rush Poker ring game or a Rush Poker Tournament, you’ll join a large player pool and face a different table of opponents every hand you play. When you fold your hand, you’ll be rushed to a new table for the next hand immediately. When you play a Rush Poker Tournament, you’ll be part of a large player pool and face a different table of opponents every hand you play. When you fold your hand, you’ll immediately be moved to a new table for your next hand. When there are less than 30 players left in the tournament, tables will become short-handed to ensure that the pace of game remains as fast as possible. When the final table of the tournament is reached, the tournament will switch to the “standard” tournament mode and hands will be played one at a time until the tournament is complete.
Unlike a standard ring game, when you play a ring game in Rush Poker you’ll join a large player pool and face a different table of opponents every hand you play. When you fold your hand, you’ll immediately be moved to a new table for your next hand (so the concept is much the same as a standard knock out poker tournament).
So Will it Catch On?
Well it is certainly is more exciting as there really is no wait time between hands. As soon as you fold you have another hand in front of you. From that perspective, great. In terms of multi-tabling, that could be more of a challenge – and could impact on profitability. Whilst you will get stronger hands more often – you have to keep in mind that the playing field is evened – as so will all of your opponents. In essence you have to be more selective about your starting hand requirements. Whether it catches on or not – time will tell.
I guess it is something you really need to try for yourself as it is fast paced and exciting. To get involved get yourself an account created at Full Tilt Poker and try out this new game.
